Another busy term, my main focus has been on the post-16 education centre and new equipment for the AS classes – outdoor playground, indoors and the sensory room:
·Post-16 centre: We’ve had a donation from a local business for the post-16 education centre, which is a great start –
I’ve also applied to several charitable trusts and other local businesses for funding / grants – no news on these yet but I’ll keep you posted.
·AS equipment: With this project, we’ve had several suppliers into school to look at the outdoor playground, the intensive interaction room, the wall space outside the AS classrooms (with a view to putting a climbing wall there) and the sensory room – measurements have been taken, and conversations taken place about what would be most suitable.
The quotes are now coming in, so I’ve started applying for grants – I’ve sent off 4 so far, with a further 3 in the pipeline. Fingers crossed for this, it would be so great to be able to buy some new equipment, it would really make a positive difference.
·Other: – I’ve applied for funding for new library books – will let you know if this is successful
– There a few more potential avenues to explore – information has come through on music funding possibilities, and a sponsored event working with Julia’s House, for example – I’ll update you next term if any of these come to fruition
– The London Marathon is next month – Good Luck to Donald Smith, our parent who is running this and kindly donating his sponsorship proceeds to the school
As before, if you have any ideas for fundraising, or any possible routes to explore for grants, or if you work for a company with charitable policies that we might be able to benefit from, please do let me know – you can contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07568 325015.
