“Welcome to the Exeter House Vocational Centre” Our off site Centre in the heart of Salisbury City centre.

We are a group of nineteen students aged between 14 and 19.

The Head of our Centre is Alison Long supported by Tutors Paul, Kirsty, Kerry and Rich. We also have 3 teaching assistants to guide and help us with our learning.

We follow the ASDAN programs of study for Personal and Social Development and Personal Progress. Our curriculum is focused on developing life skills for independent living as well as skills for accessing the community and the workplace.

We set in ability groupings for Literacy and Numeracy. We work towards Open Awards qualifications in Literacy, ICT and Maths and AQA unit awards in our vocational subjects, woodwork, horticulture and craft. We have weekly ELSA sessions to develop our emotional literacy and social communication skills.

We have Community Connections running travel training sessions with some of our younger students on a Tuesday. We cook our own lunches on a Wednesday and a Thursday. This year we are using the leisure facilities at Five Rivers for swimming sessions on a Wednesday. We will also be running various enterprise events across the year so watch this space…
