Eagles

Welcome to Eagles!

Eagles is a Post-12 class, made up of year 7, 8, 9 and 10. In our class, we welcome students as they move up from Key Stage Three and we prepare them for life in Post-16. Life in Post-12 is about teaching our students what is appropriate/ inappropriate in public and how to manage the perils of puberty! What’s more, we follow a program from the EQUALS Moving On program. Topics that we will study this year include The Human Body, Cookery and Abstract Art. We will also be following Literacy and Numeracy session plans informed by the Track Back programmes used across the school. Furthermore, we encourage students to be as independent as possible. For example, students prepare their own snack during Daily Living Skills and we support students to be as independent as possible with their personal care needs.

We are a fun loving, excitable class of 9 students with a range of learning needs that include Autism and Global Learning Difficulties. Working with me, I have three fantastic teaching assistants who work really hard and have great relationships with all of our students.

That’s all for now,

Nikki, Class Teacher of Eagles
