Woodpecker’s Stay and Play sessions

A huge thank you to all the parents and relatives who joined us for our Play and Stay sessions this week. These were hugely successful! We loved welcoming you to our class and sharing some of the fun learning activities which we do. On Tuesday we shared a Stage 2 Attention Autism bucket session, and parents joined in with some fantastic Makaton signing and lots of ‘oohs and aahs’ to build anticipation of all the exciting items in the bucket! Parents helped us make ladybird biscuits and joined in sensory activities. In our session on Thursday we did Jabadao with music, balls, ribbons and the parachute. Some parents even got to visit the new Sensory Room and see how we can control the lights by selecting different colour buttons on the iPad! Parents commented on how they love that we learn new skills by participating in such engaging and interesting activities. One mum even commented that seeing what we do in school has given her the confidence to do some cooking at home with her child and it’s been a brilliant success!
